Words From Chris
Even though I nearly broke my neck in football as kid, I have always loved the sport. In my little world, it’s the ultimate team game. That’s a small picture that comes to mind when I think of being a part of God’s church. There’s plenty of pain (much of it self-induced), but I get to be in the supreme team “game”, where every victory advances the glory of God and good of the world.
My calling in ministry is best described by these words from Paul, “We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.” My calling in life is best described in the words of Jesus, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” I do not live up to either of these, yet God has me standing squarely in His river of grace and I’m enjoying the freedom found only in that current.
Fun for me is dreaming with my wife, wrestling with my son and dancing (sort of) with my daughters. In addition to being an expert napper, I also enjoy some minor-league four-wheeling and an occasionally cast of the fly rod. Meaningless side note: I was once bitten by a ferret.
